"I would like to think that I can write songs where the melody would stick in peoples' heads for more than a few minutes..."

Growing up in Southern Maryland there was little to do - especially in the music scene.  I started out listening to music on AM radio - then moved onto foreign broadcasts to hear stations like the BBC and the Radio Netherlands Top 10.  I used to think - I need to be there - it sounds like a cool place - get me out of here!

Started on guitar at age 8 then bass at 12. Wrote songs in high school and joined small acoustic bands playing guitar and bass.  Purchased a Wurlitzer electric piano at 16 and taught myself the basics.

Bands came and went - never lasting for more than a couple of years.  Performed 70's/80's/90's rock and even some country in between.  I got serious about writing songs - mainly about relationships and then about perspectives and events from what I saw in my travels - especially in Europe.

Bought tape recorders early on and then went to work in a “professional” studio at Cue Recording in Falls Church, VA.  Realized that I would never be able to afford all the studio time necessary for a finished song I started investing in studio equipment.  The gear and home studios progressed and now SKYVIEW is the place where I work with other musicians.

Would like to think I can write songs where the melody would stick in peoples’ heads for more than a few minutes and hopefully they could relate to what I was saying.  And then, maybe some might like the song enough to remember it.  Writing and recording music - that's still the goal.
